Laura was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her family moved to Stockholm in her teenage years where she eventually attended the pre-eminent RMI-Berghs Communications Institute. When Graduating in 1988, Laura began her career as a professional free-lance illustrator; working with design firms, advertising agencies and magazines.

In 1993 Laura moved to New York City where she quickly found work with high-end department stores, magazines and design firms such as Bergdorf Goodman, The New Yorker, Harpers Bazaar to mention a few. Working mainly as an editorial illustrator, Laura entered her next phase when her first childrens book was published, by Harry Adams in 2001. After that Laura has created several childrens books which has been published all over the world.

Her vibrant, modern style of illustrating has earned her many awards and international acclaim, including 2 Golden Egg nominations in Sweden. Laura has twice selected to the Young Guns Award from the Art Directors Club and 3 of her childrens books have been in the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show.

Laura is today living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
