Amanda was born in 1975 in Paris. After growing up in France Amanda moved to Sweden. After a year of literature studies in Madrid, it became clear that the drawing would be more than a hobby, and while back in Sweden Amanda started studying "Graphic Design and Illustration" at Bergh's School of Communication in Stockholm. Today Amanda runs her own business under the name "House of Mendi" in which she produces, exhibits and sells her art, and take assignments as a freelance illustrator. With everything from private collectors, communications and public relations agencies, advertising agencies into apparel and footwear brands such as Sessions and Vans as customers, to name a few.
In Amanda's paintings fashion and attitude of both classic and modern design language comes together, with a natural, confident manner. One can see the love of lines and colors as well as photography and cartoons. Amanda blends a graphic clarity of illustration in her canvases. In more than 15 years, the female character ever been the focus of Amanda's pictures. The most inspirational form in all its diversity, variation, and kind disposition. Amanda talks about "characters that takes place and requires". 2009 Amanda was out, of the yearly Australian publication Curvy, as the hundred most important female artists in the world.
